Meet Tia, PA-C

Tia is a Dermatology Physician Assistant with over a decade of clinical experience and a deep commitment to mentoring and professional growth within medicine. Her work is grounded in advocacy for dermatology in skin of color, precepting and mentoring trainees, and expanding leadership and executive opportunities for Advanced Practice Providers.
With more than 10 years of experience spanning leadership, clinical research, student and peer mentoring, program development, and academia, Tia brings both lived experience and strategic insight to her coaching. She understands the realities of healthcare — the pressure, the ambition, the burnout, and the desire to build a career that still leaves room for life.
Her approach is thoughtful, practical, and rooted in helping others feel seen, supported, and empowered.

What is the difference between a career coach, mentor, and leader?
Career coach: Focuses on goal-setting, skills development, accountability, and strategy. Often structured and time-limited.
Mentor: Shares personal experience, guidance, and advice based on having “been there.” Relationship is usually longer-term and informal.
Leader (or sponsor): Advocates for you, opens doors, and creates opportunities within an organization or field.
